This is Mr N's first blog photo. I think he did very well! He even captured some new Liberty hanging on the line. And a rubber ducky...
I made this skirt way back in early June but it was too tight for Melbourne layering. So it's been sitting patiently waiting for the weather to warm up enough so I can wear it without leggings and an under singlet.
Project Details
Pattern:
Simplicity 2451 View D
Fabric:
Indy Dark Denim 6GSM Light Weight Denim from Kelani Fabrics
I have made this
skirt previously but have since cut it up for my Freddie Vest as it wasn't a good fabric to pattern match. It's a great pattern but doesn't make an exceptionally versatile denim skirt as you have to tuck a shirt in to it. Next time I'm going to do a straight denim pencil skirt or even the new Grainline Moss miniskirt for a basic summer skirt.
All in all I'm pretty happy with my skirt. And my photographer!

It looks gorgeous!! I was thinking of making the grainline one too - I want a summer skirt I can wear with a shirt tucked out. And Mr N is a budding photographer!
ReplyDeleteLooks great, can't wait to see what you do with the liberty .. and your photographer is a natural!
ReplyDeleteI love your little skirt - i am seeing so many nice things on the internet to sew . I`m sure it is perfectly normal to have a rubber ducky in the backyard . Your new photographer is definitely a keeper.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I like. Looks like it treads the boundary between smart & casual well. I've started making a (wearable) muslin of view D and was worried it might be a bit short but yours looks a good length.
ReplyDeleteLove this skirt, love the fabric choice and luuuurve your styling! Super rad!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty little skirt - I have been resisting the urge to make this skirt again but I think I might just 'have' to give in. What a great job!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I wonder what that Liberty will become? :)
ReplyDeleteGreat skirt! I made three versions of this pattern a year or so ago, I am tempted to make another now. Very good photo from the little one
