Sew: Tessuti Alexa T-top in Black Wool Jersey

As I pledged to wear all handmade items with the exception of jeans, cardigans & undergarments, I needed some new t-shirts. I already needed new t-shirts, and knew MMM13 was a good motivation to actually sew them. I cut out two t-shirts yesterday afternoon and sewed the black one last night. Such a quick and easy project. And such a wardrobe staple.

I made the size XL without any alterations. It is a pretty perfect fit. Next time I will add 5-10cm to the length. The sleeves are a little short but I do like them that way.

I picked up this wool jersey on my recent shopping trip with my mother in law. It is a nice sturdy weight. I was in Rathdowne yesterday morning and they still had some, plus quite a range of colours and weights.

Project Details
Pattern: Tessuti Alexa T-Top, long sleeve version, size XL
Fabric: Black Merino Wool Jersey from Rathdowne Fabrics

In other news, I got my haircut yesterday. To say I hate it would be an understatement. I know it's only hair and it will grow back. But it really annoys me that I went to the hairdresser with relatively good hair yesterday morning and walked out with a crazy odd style. Sigh.

  1. I like your haircut but I do feel your pain. I got my hair cut off a couple of months ago and have regretted it since. Short hair is way too labour intensive for me!

  2. I really like it this length. It shows off your eyes and cheekbones nicely. Don't be down about it - you look great! Love the Alexa Top too.

  3. Oh I don't think your hair is bad at all, but I do love your usual curls (which seems to have been chopped off). It will grow again!

    1. Yes, it will grow again. It's funny because I wore my hair this length for years and years. I had become quite attached to the curls which were a recent addition since having my second boy. Oh well. It is only hair.

  4. Well, I like the haircut! But I do like short hair. I reckon that you look gorgeous! Great top too. I need some more wool jersey in my life...

  6. As I was scrolling through your post, I found myself thinking how much I like your hair, and that maybe I need to go for a different, shorter style. I love how a new style feels fresh and clean and new. And then I read that you were unhappy with it, when I'd been admiring it! But you have to be comfortable in your own skin, and hair I guess, so I hope it grows out to something you're happy with soon!

I also love your necklace! It looks great with your top.

    1. Thanks Meredith! I actually don't mind my haircut it was just poorly cut and crooked. I went back and had it fixed. I quite like it now.
