In the months leading up to Christmas I went on a bit of a polymer clay bead making binge. I used about 12 packets of Fimo to make 8 beads per packet. After getting a bowl full of beads I sat down one night and made countless necklaces, threading 5 beads per necklace on to either twine from Spotlight or a pink thin nylon cord purchased at the Big Design Market in December. I made necklaces for all the boy's teachers, my sister-in-laws, my mum, friends and work colleagues. They were fabulous presents and went down a treat. I may have kept a few for myself...
My sister-in-law, T, wearing her new necklace. It took her a few hours to realise I'd actually made the necklace. Biggest compliment ever!! Below is my mum wearing her bright coloured necklace. I love the neon pink cord.
Last week, I sat down and used up all the remaining beads to make 12 necklaces to donate to the school fete. No sewing for the fete yet but I still call 12 bead necklaces a win!

Those beads look so perfectly even! Did you use any tools to make them that perfect or did you do it by hand? I've played around with polymer clay before but my jewelry also looked like a four year old made it ;)
ReplyDeleteI love mine - wore it last night to dinner and received many compliments - the pink neon thread is definitely a winner!
ReplyDeleteThe neon cord is just the best.
ReplyDeleteThose look awesome. Your beads look really smooth and round.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Liza Jane - my attempts at beads look like a three year old made them with play dough! Yours are perfect and the colours are awesome
ReplyDeletelove these Leith, I'll bet they are a best seller :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Liza Jane! I roll them by hand and push a toothpick through for the hole. You need to pick a day that's not too cold as the clay is tough when cold. Maybe I have a talent to rolling beads!
ReplyDeleteI love neon. Wish I could wear more of it!
ReplyDeleteHa ha! My first batch were not so good but this batch really worked out well. Thanks.
